Hey Everyone

I've searched through the forums and found a bunch of different how to / audio tab settings for settings my SPDIF to output DTS (which haven't worked anyways) but maybe this might be the reason.

I have my SPDIF header on my motherboard hooked up to my video card (asus 9800en matrix) and then outputting over HDMI to my receiver (which supports DTS / Dolby).

No matter what setting I change, or what filter I use (ac3 or ffdshow) I can still never get it to output anything other than PCM audio to my receiver.

any suggestions anyone?

No matter which settings I apply, mkv's and movies with subtitles makes the movie jitter. Tried the trick with PowerDVD, didnt help in mediacenter, but powerDVD it selfs plays it well.
Setting DXVa2 doesnt make it better. Choosing Hardware acceleration makes it worse.
Any ideas appreciated.

I'm trying to get through the torture of a college sociology telecourse meaning that I need to watch a bunch of dvds that are far too slow and boring. What better way to do that than to watch them at 1.4x right?

However, I'm getting no sound when I do that either in windows media player or the mpchc modified by shark.

These are 100% dvd rips from my hard drive. Yes they were paid for along with the book for my class . They are 100% rips to .iso and mounted with slysoft virtual clone drive just so I can have them all on my laptop and watch as time allows.

Hoping someone has some input here so I don't have to waste more of my life than I need to. How can I get sound when I speed up the playback rate? Looks like mpc-hc uses ffdshow and windows media player doesn't (at least in toolbar) so I was hoping one or the other would work. Some setting I'm missing I hope!
